Town
of Gibsons
The Town of Gibsons is a thriving community known as the
'Gateway to the Sunshine Coast'. Part of the mainland, the
Town is accessed by a scenic 40 minute ferry trip from Horseshoe
Bay through beautiful Howe Sound. Mountains, local islands,
tug boats and kayakers are all part of the view along the
way. The Town of Gibsons is a short hop from the ferry terminal
along the coast and sits right by the ocean. It's 4,000
residents enjoy beaches, parks and cafes while taking in
the natural vistas.
Sunshine
Coast Regional District
The SCRD was incorporated in January of 1967 following the
1965 Provincial legislation which established a partnership
between the electoral areas and the municipalities within
their boundaries.
BC
Ferries
If you're looking for an active getaway, the Sunshine Coast
offers some of the province's best opportunities to fish,
scuba dive, golf, hike, sail and sightsee. If you'd rather
take it easy, you can discover the unique charm of the Sunshine
Coast on short, relaxing, and very scenic drives between
small towns. On the way, you'll enjoy good food, unique
points of interest, and great hospitality with everything
from motels to resorts to quaint B & B's.
Gibsons
Chamber of Commerce
Whether you are investigating an economic opportunity in
the area, thinking about retiring here, or just want to
visit the scenic Sunshine Coast for the weekend, we hope
this website will help you.
Many
festivals and events offer an excellent chance to experience
Sunshine Coast hospitality--from a local jazz festival in
June to the annual Sea Cavalcade in July. We've enjoyed
hosting the Outrigger Canoe championships and had a visit
from retired tugboats during the Maritime Weekend.
Sechelt
Chamber of Commerce
Sechelt, located on a narrow isthmus of land between the
Strait of Georgia and the inland sea of Sechelt Inlet, is
a place of quiet beauty, incredible energy, and a population
as diverse as any to be found in Canada.
